This bill also introduces new requirements for businesses. We are talking in particular about co-ownership corporations since they are required to process personal information. Moreover, governance policies and the appointment of a person in charge will be required.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p>In addition, BP64 will also expand the role of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cai.gouv.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Commission d&#8217;acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l&#8217;information du Qu\u00e9bec<\/i><\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bea6988 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bea6988\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Finally, another objective is to make the actors responsible for the management of personal information. That is, they will be obliged to review their internal and external policies regarding the protection of personal information, even if it means being strongly sanctioned.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-daa8c98 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"daa8c98\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eef40da elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"eef40da\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">A better control of personal information\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e522a75 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e522a75\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>Bill 64 offers citizens better control over their personal information.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In particular, it will provide more tools and rights to co-owners regarding the management of their data by the syndicate of co-ownership, as by all private enterprises.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-994566b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"994566b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>From the preparation of registers to the management of information collected through surveillance cameras, syndicates of co-ownership will have to quickly comply with the new requirements. These requirements will come into effect over a period of 2 years starting in September 2022 until September 2024, in addition to complying with the current obligations regarding the protection of personal information.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4760876 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"4760876\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0d3e64e elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"0d3e64e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">What are the syndicate\u2019s obligations to protect personal information?\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5990573 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5990573\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>As of September 2022, syndicates of co-ownership will have to designate a person responsible for the protection of personal information and publish the title and contact information of the person responsible on the website of the co-ownership. To the extent that the co-ownership does not have a website, the contact information must be made available by any other appropriate means.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-67a31c5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"67a31c5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>In the event of a privacy incident involving personal information, syndicates shall take reasonable measures to minimize the risk of harm to individuals and to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-7dd522a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"7dd522a\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;jet_parallax_layout_list&quot;:[]}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-row\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3fe1b5b\" data-id=\"3fe1b5b\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-985601a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"985601a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>The syndicate will also be required to notify the Commission and the individual concerned if the incident poses a risk of serious harm, and to keep a record of incidents. A copy of the record must be provided to the Board upon request.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-55a916e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"55a916e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div that will result from Bill 64 will become even more important in September 2023 when new obligations will be put in
